Weddings Redefined

As you may know, we make a donation to charity on the first anniversary of all of our full service wedding clients.  We see this as very integral to our mission to promote marriage equality.  In 2011, we are proud to have donated to the following wonderful nonprofit organizations:

• GLAD
• Freedom to Marry
• Lambda Legal
• The Point Foundation
• HRC

Very quietly this year, I added language to my Vision and Concept package contracts:

It's About Time will make a donation in your name to the charity of your choice on your first anniversary.  Select one of the following or choose your own:

• Native Energy - carbon offset credits to reduce greenhouse emissions
• HRC - Human Rights Campaign, lobbyists for GLBT equality in Washington
• GLAD - New England's GLBT legal nonprofit
  
• Hands On Network - the nation's largest network of volunteer action centers, serving 83% of the US
• Other

This is important to me.  I'm an idealist.  I enjoy volunteering my time and energy locally, and I believe that the weddings and events I plan can change the world, one guest at a time.

When I first started the company, I made a donation to GLAD on each client's first anniversary.  Now, I wanted to give clients a choice and these are organizations I believe in.
